Bleach spot on carpet or rug? Here is an easy fix...

An easy way to fix that ugly spot for cheap!
I'm sure you have made the same mistake around the house that I did... While cleaning up I accidentally dripped a few spots of bleach onto my new carpets while I was putting the container back under the sink. And the next time I noticed it was when the bleach took all the color out of the carpet at that spot... Curses! After looking at it for a few weeks, it occurred to me that all I needed to do was re-color the spot to something close to the original. I could dye it, but there is a much easier way to do this: I just used a permanent magic marker and rubbed it back and forth on the bleach spot a few times. Presto! If you can't find the exact color or close like I did, combine several magic marker colors in lighter to darker order. Of course try this first on something disposable and compare with your rug to make sure the final color will be "close." And that's all you need with carpet. Also when done, blot up the area with a paper towel to help dry it. And that's all there is to it! Hope this helps, saves you some frustration and money.
(p.s. make sure the bleach spot is dry first!)
